The body of a policeman was found in paddy fields in south Kashmir's Pulwama on Saturday morning with police saying that he was shot dead by suspected militants in the area.
Police sources said Farooq Ahmad Mir, a sub-inspector with the J&K police, left his home for the paddy field in his native village of Sambora in Pampore on Friday evening. on Saturday morning, the village residents spotted his body in the field and informed the police.
A police team reached the sport and recovered the body. he had a bullet wound on his chest.
